They may have sat next to each other during New York’s Fashion Week, but there is no love lost between Kimora Lee Simmons and ex-hubby Russell Simmons. Russell has forced Kimora out of the design company Baby Phat, and he wants to stop giving her alimony. Kimora has moved on with Actor Djimon Hounsou. They have a young son. They also had a ceremony in Africa, but not a legal one in the states. Kimora won’t legally marry Hounsou because she would have to give up her alimony money from Russell Simmons. Russell knows she has moved on. He just wishes she would do it without his money.

If you want to leave flowers at the gravesite of Michael Jackson, it’s going to cost you money. Yes, the cemetery is charging a three dollar fee if you want to leave flowers where Michael Jackson is buried.

Terrence Howard is one busy guy. He and Taraji P. Henson will be back as host of The Soul Train Awards. The 40th anniversary of Soul Train is being marked this year, and the awards show will air Sunday, November 28th. Special honorees include Ron Isley and Anita Baker. In more Terrence news, he also joins the cast of the Law And Order franchise on Sept 29th. That’s the day of the debut of Law And Order: Los Angeles. Actress Regina Hall (the Scary Movie franchise) is also a part of the cast.

Terrence is also on The Queen Of Soul’s mind. Aretha Franklin has announced her dream cast for a bio-pic of her life. Franklin wants Halle Berry to play her, Denzel Washington to play her father The Rev C.L. Franklin, Nia Long to play her sister Emma, Blair Underwood to play her brother/manager Cecil and Terrence Howard as Smokey Robinson. Now the big question is: will this movie get made? Don’t look for it anytime soon. Producers were not feeling her cast choices. They were leaning towards Jennifer Hudson or Gospel Singer Karen Clark-Sheard to play Franklin.

People Magazine unveils their best and worst dressed this week. Rihanna and Zoe Saldana are on the lists.

President Obama has a new book coming out on November 16th. The book, Of Thee I Sing: A Letter To My Daughters, is a children’s book. The proceeds will go towards a scholarship fund for children of fallen and disabled troops.

Tina Turner is mourning the loss of her sister Ruby Alline Selico, who passed away at the age of 73 after a long illness.

Are congrats in order for Shaquille O’Neal and reality star Hoopz? Nikki Alexander, a.k.a. Hoopz, is sporting a huge ring, and she and Shaq have been spending a lot of time together.

Jennifer Lopez is getting $12 million to sign on as a new judge on American Idol. The announcement is expected to come in October. Expect to see a lot of J-Lo in the next few weeks, including a new ad for Macy’s.

Our prayers and condolences go to Gospel Singer Marvin Sapp, who lost his wife last week. Dr. MaLinda Sapp lost her battle with colon cancer at the age 43. The Sapps had been married for 15 years and have three children. Marvin Sapp is best known for the gospel favorites Never Would Have Made It and The Best In Me.

Montana Fishburne says she is trying to get her life in order. The daughter of C.S.I. Star Laurence Fishburne made headlines when she starred in her first porn movie, which came out last month. Montana has entered anger management classes in California, and she is undergoing tests for mental and behavioral problems. In February, she was arrested for beating up her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend.

This was not good week for Boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. The boxer was arrested last week involving an incident with his baby momma. Josie Harris claims the boxer beat her up and stole her I-Phone. Mayweather was charged with grand larceny. What set off the battle with his baby momma? Could it be because he is engaged to another woman, Las Vegas Model Shantel Jackson?

K-Ci and JoJo Hailey of Jodeci fame are coming to reality TV in K-Ci And JoJo Come Clean, which debuts Tuesday, October 19th on TV One.

It’s another honor for Oprah Winfrey. On December 28th, she will be one of the recipients at the Kennedy Center Honors along with Sir Paul McCartney, Choreographer/Dancer Bill T. Jones and Country Legend Merle Haggard. Oprah is in her 25th and final season of The Oprah Winfrey Show.

El DeBarge is the cover guy for the new issue of Ebony magazine. DeBarge is releasing a new album on the 28th called Second Chance. In the Ebony magazine feature, he talks about releasing his first album in 16 years, his drug addiction and his family of 12 kids.

Vanessa Williams is geared up for the new season of Desperate Housewives. Williams is joining the cast along with Actor Reggie Austin, who plays her basketball player husband. The new season kicks off September 26th. Williams looks amazing in the promos.

The 11th season of Dancing With The Stars kicks off on the 20th. This year’s dancers include David Hasselhoff (Baywatch, Knight Rider) Kirstie Alley (Cheers), Michael Bolton, Football Star Kurt Warner, Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol, Singer Brandy, Kyle Massey (Corey In The House, That’s So Raven) former husband of Vanessa Williams and Basketball Star Rick Fox and Brady Bunch mom Florence Henderson.

September 20th is the start date for the Holly Robinson’s daytime talk show debut. The show, simply called The Talk, will also feature Sharon Osborne and Moderator Julie Chen with a host of other women, a la The View.

The new issue of Essence is hot with Blair Underwood, Boris Kodjoe and Lance Gross as the cover guys. The TV hunks look good as they gear up for their new shows. Blair Underwood will play the President Of The United States in the suspense filled drama The Event, which airs on Monday nights beginning September 20th. Boris Kodjoe will be starring with Gugu Mbatha-Raw as husband and wife in the action drama Undercovers, which will air on Wednesday nights beginning September 22nd.

The release date for Tyler Perry’s movie For Colored Girls has been moved up. The movie was supposed to come out next January, but the movie is now being released on November 5th. The movie, based on the 1975 play For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf by Ntozake Shange, stars Janet Jackson, Anika Noni Rose, Whoopi Goldberg, Kimberly Elise, Phylicia Rashad, Loretta Devine, Thandie Newton, Macy Gray, Michael Ealy, Hill Harper and Khalil Kain. Anita Baker is set to release a new album new on January 18th. Baker, 52, says she’s excited about the new project called 21st Century Love.

Eric Benet’s new album, Lost In Time, arrives in stores in November. The first single is Sometimes I Cry. The album features Faith Evans, Chrisette Michele, Ledisi and Eddie Levert.

Patti LaBelle is on Broadway. She is playing the mother of the lead character in the musical Fela! LaBelle will be in the production through the first of the year.

Queen Latifah is teaming up with Dolly Parton for a gospel film. Joyful Noise is a movie musical about two women who come together to save a small town gospel choir. The rapper/actress and the country queen join forces on the silver screen when the movie arrives in theatres in 2012. Check out Queen in her latest movie with Rapper/Actor Common.
