Drea Kelly was on TMZ yesterday with her daughter, Buku Abi and said it doesn’t matter what kind of job R. Kelly gets as long as he pays his child support. Drea wants a deadline for R. Kelly to pay her the $32k he owes. R. Kelly’s camp says the money owed is interest and not back child support. TMZ says only $11,500 of it is interest and the rest is for unpaid child support and educational expenses. Drea says says she doesn’t care if he’s the first king of R&B to work at Del Taco, she wants her child support. His daughter, Buku Abi, said she has her own career and doesn’t need his money. But he’s legally obligated to pay until she’s 23.
R. Kelly thinks Drea should get behind the counter at a burger joint to pay her own way. R. Kelly’s crisis manager, Darrell Johnson, said it’s crazy that R. Kelly pay child support for an adult child. R. Kelly feels Drea’s using child support for her own come up and says it’s time for her to get a job. He thinks McDonald’s and Burger King are options because she also has a responsibility to pay for their kids. R. Kelly owes $21,000 a month in child support, and he’s currently behind $32,000.
