Last January, police got an anonymous tip from someone that said they worked for Wendy Williams’ production company. They allegedly told cops that Wendy was in danger. They were convinced Kevin Hunter was giving Wendy dangerous substances and asked the police to investigate. Police did a welfare check. At the time, Wendy had not yet filed for divorce and the two were still living together. Two officers showed up at their New Jersey home and Kevin Hunter answered the door. Police said in a report that Kevin Hunter was nervous about letting them in after they said they were responding to the anonymous phone call. Kevin Hunter reportedly claimed Wendy was recovering from a sickness. He ultimately let them in and cops found Wendy in her bed with a blanket covering her entire body. Police then asked Kevin Hunter to leave so they could have a conversation with Wendy without him, but he refused. Wendy told them she was healing from a broken shoulder. When one of the officers asked her if she was being poisoned, she said, “Well I’m very popular.” When he asked her again, she reportedly teared up before denying the claim. The police left after Wendy confirmed she was doing okay.
