Aminah is in her late 20’s, she and her ex boyfriend of three years,Trent, have been broken up for a year. Aminah cut off all communication when they broke up. Aminah says her mom always loved Trent and she never told her mom that the reason they broke up was that Trent cheated on her with a cousin. Aminah says her mother always cooks dinner and invites family and friends to join her for her birthday which is coming up next month. Aminah just found out her mother invited her ex and she feels like her mother should have checked with her first. Aminah is asking if she should tell her mom why the relationship ended and if mom should continue to include Trent, since they weren’t married? What advice would you offer to Aminah?
