Tim says that last year was his first Christmas with Juanita. He now feels like he has to outdo last year or take the chance on looking cheap. He bought her several gifts last year including a small diamond necklace that she had admired when they were out shopping. He says he wound up spending close to a grand and she bought him a couple of shirts and a belt. He says he’s not upset about the difference in spending, but is wondering if he’s going to look like a cheapskate if he doesn’t give in the same manner this year. Is it too late to talk about spending limits on gifts for each other?
