Prayer Warriors get in formation! The “Queen Of Soul” Superstar Aretha Franklin is seriously ill in a Detroit hospital according to a person close to the singer.
According to several media reports Aretha, who is 76 years old is ‘gravely ill.’ She is reportedly resting with her friends and family by her side:
The ‘Queen of Soul’ has battled multiple health issues over the years, including pancreatic cancer in 2011.
Franklin canceled planned concerts earlier this year after she was ordered by her doctor to stay off the road and rest up.
Last year, the 76-year-old icon announced her plans to retire, saying she would perform at “some select things.”

A biopic starring Jennifer Hudson as Franklin is scheduled to begin filming in 2019.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, on March 25, 1942, Franklin moved to Detroit at age 4. She remained loyal to the region, living in the Detroit area for decades, including the Bloomfield Hills house where she moved in the late 1980s.
“My roots are there. The church is there. My family is there,” she told the Free Press in 2011. “I like the camaraderie in Detroit, how we’ll rally behind something that’s really worthy and come to each other’s assistance.”
