Unorthodox is not even enough to explain a wedding ceremony held last week, where a man married the love of his life who recently died.

In the video, you see the beautiful bride freshly embalmed and in her casket wearing a beautiful red dress. Her “husband” to be is seen, wearing all white.

And they had a full on ceremony with bridesmaids and groomsmen and everything. Check out the video:

 

And while a posthumous wedding may seem strange to say the least… it really is quite common AND legal in some counties!

A posthumous wedding is defined as a marriage in which one of the participating members is deceased. It is legal in France and similar forms are practiced in Sudan and China.

Since World War I, France has had hundreds of requests to marry corpses each year, of which many have been approved.  All I will say is people grieve differently. What do YOU think about marrying the dead? Let me know in the comment section below!
