Finally some justice for Emmett Till?

The federal government has reopened its investigation into the 1955 lynching murder of Emmett Till, the black teenager whose brutal kidnapping, torture, lynching and murder by two white men in Mississippi helped spark the civil rights movement:

A Justice Department report to Congress said the agency is reinvestigating Till’s slaying after receiving what it calls “new information,” according to The Associated Press. The case was closed in 2007 with authorities saying the suspects were dead.

The report doesn’t say specifically what the new information might be. However, it was issued in March following the publication last year of “The Blood of Emmett Till.” The book quotes Carolyn Donham, the white woman  who admitted she lied when she testified that 14-year-old Till grabbed her sexually and whistled at her in a store in 1955:

Two white men,Donham’s then-husband, Roy Bryant and his half-brother J.W. Milam, were charged with murder, but acquitted in the slaying of Till, a Chicago native who had been staying with relatives in northern Mississippi at the time. The men later confessed to the crime in a magazine interview, but weren’t retried.

Donham, who turns 84 this month currently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina. It was reported that a man came to the door at her residence and declined to comment about the FBI reopening the investigation. SOOOOO many people think Carolyn is dead BUT SHE IS VERY MUCH ALIVE and I feel she should be charged with the murder of Emmett Till, locked up and the whole key thrown away forever!

I will definitely keep you updated on this story….Rest In Power Brother Till.
