Sad news in the world of Hip Hop! Rapper Craig Mack, the first artist to release a album on Sean “P Diddy” Combs Bad Boy label has dies of heart failure in a South Carolina hospital Monday.  He was only 46 years old.

The Long Island native born Craig Jamieson Mack on May 10, 1970, rose to fame in the early 1990s with his hit “Flava In Ya Ear” under Diddy’s Bad Boy record label. He was soon followed on the label by fellow Bad Boy artists Notorious B.I.G. and eventually Mase.

Mack had recently began to film a documentary about his life and career at his church in Walterboro. The documentary would follow Mack’s journey of passing up fame for a life dedicated to his religious beliefs.

Close friend and Mack’s  music producer Alvin Toney says Mack had been very ill for some time and knew he didn’t have much longer to live. Tony said Mack told him during a recent visit that he had been ill for some time and knew he wouldn’t live long. Rappers stars and fans young and old are paying respect to Craig on line:

Mack is survived by his wife and two adult children.

R.I.P. Rest In Power Craig  Mack!
