I do and its become one of my favorites. The show is known
for controversial social and political issues. With that said why did ABC refuse to air a recent episode.
ABC is saying they will not run a pretty sensitive episode over certain “creative differences” with the show runner Kenya Barrisand at moment, ABC doesn’t have any plans to air the episode or make it available at all.
The episode is titled “Please, Baby, Please” and was supposed to air on February 27.
An ABC spokesperson told Variety, “One of the things that has always made ‘Black-ish’ so special is how it deftly examines delicate social issues in a way that simultaneously entertains and educates. However, on this episode there were creative differences we were unable to resolve.”
“Please, Baby, Please” shows Dre (played by Anthony Anderson) with his baby boy. The thunderstorm keeps the whole family awake. Dre makes up a bedtime story that eventually reveals his anger and disgust about some of the issues facing the country. The episode also discusses the rights of football players to kneel during performances of the national anthem.
Kenya Barris the creator said “Given our creative differences, neither ABC nor I were happy with the direction of the episode and mutually agreed not to air it. Black-ish’ is a show that has spoken to all different types of people and brought them closer as a community and I’m so proud of the series.”
