In a neighborhood just north of downtown, two police officers were reportedly ambushed Friday. KTVI reports, a shootout occurred around 1:45 p.m. in the 800 block of Dixon. When officers from the gang investigation unit approached two persons of interest, they opened fire and a stray bullet hit 24-year-old Tamara Collier.
The mother of two is now paralyzed and fighting to walk again.
