Bun B On How He & Pimp C Were Underestimated By Their Label [EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW]

Bun B came through to the “Ed Lover Show.” He explained why his first record deal, which was for 5 five albums, took over fifteen years to complete. He recalls a time when Lyor Cohen chewed him out about him and Pimp C being stubborn, at a point when they had been at it for 9 years and had only turned in three albums. Bun explains why he initially didn’t want to do “Big Pimpin’” with Jay-Z, and why he didn’t want to fly to Trinidad for the music video.

Bun also explains why he thinks UGK was attractive to record labels in their early days, and how the record label constantly underestimated them. He explains that they wouldn’t listen to their ideas about what they wanted to say in their album, and how they wanted to promote it.
