Carlos Santana has some real explaining to do.

The music legend opened up to the Australian Associated Press about the Grammys on Sunday night and revealed why he thinks Adele deserved to win all of the awards over Beyoncé. He stated, “I think that Adele won because she can sing, sing. With all respect to our sister Beyoncé, Beyoncé is very beautiful to look at and it’s more like modeling kind of music — music to model a dress — she’s not a singer, singer, with all respect to her.”

As you may recall, the Beyhive was devastated that their queen missed out on the big award of the night, which ultimately went to Adele: Album of the Year. Santana added, “Adele can sing, sing. She doesn’t bring all the dancers and props, she can just stand there and she just stood there and sang the song and that’s it, and this is why she win.”

Ironically, the ten-time Grammy winner performed with Beyoncé once at a pre-game show before the Super Bowl. After catching heat for his statements about Bey, Santana took to Facebook to try and clean it up, saying, “My intent was to congratulate Adele on her amazing night at the (Grammys). My comment about Beyonce was regretfully taken out of context. I have the utmost respect for her as an artist and a person. She deserves all the accolades that come her way.”

Carlos Santana hasn’t been on the scene in a while, but at least he now knows how to speak of the queen.
