Rally Held In Baltimore Day After Charges Announced Against Officers Involved In Freddie Gray Death

Baltimore City police were called to Aisquith and East Baltimore Streets where a 13-year-old boy was shot by another officer earlier on Wednesday afternoon.

Fox Baltimore reports:

The boy was carrying a replica semi-automatic pistol in his hand and was approached by two Baltimore City Police officers. At that point he fled “a good 150 yards and had every opportunity to drop the gun,” says Commissioner Kevin Davis, which prompted officers to fire their service weapons. The 13-year-old boy was taken to an area hospital and is expected to survive non-life threatening injuries.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. during the same time as two peace rallies that were happening about 10 minutes away by Mondawmin Mall and on North Avenue where the CVS was set on fire last year following Freddie Gray protests turned riots.
