If one ever needed proof of the power of dance, they needn’t look any further than the floor routine of UCLA gymnast, Sophina DeJesus. DeJesus, a senior at the school, managed to hit the Quan, the Whip and the Nae Nae dances during her flawless floor routine over the weekend reports the Daily Bruin.

The No. 5-ranked UCLA Bruins women’s gymnastics team faced off against No. 7 Utah and was losing their Saturday meet for much of the event. The Bruins eked out a 197.100- 197.075 win over the defending Pac-12 champions with the help of DeJesus’ amazing floor routine, breaking a six-meet losing streak, reports the news outlet.

Reports the Daily Bruin:

Performing for the first time on floor in front of a raucous Pauley Pavilion, freshman Madison Preston began the comeback with her second career-high score of the night – a 9.925.

After senior Danusia Francis notched a 9.825, senior Sophina DeJesus took to the mat to make her season debut on floor and nearly matched her career high with a 9.925. Ending her routine with “the dab,” Dejesus sent the 7,546-person crowd into a frenzy.

The crowd’s energy stayed consistent. Second to last in UCLA’s floor rotation, junior Angi Cipra wowed the audience with her renowned cell phone routine and posted a score of 9.975 – the highest of her collegiate career.

DeJesus, a former cast member of the kid’s television series, Hip Hop Harry, also performed her signature moonwalk during a balance beam routine and tied her season high score of 9.850. The 21-year-old hails from Temecula, Calif. Her sister, Savannah, was also a cast member of Hip Hop Harry.
