The Islamic State of Islam revealed on Saturday that the married couple who killed 14 people in San BernardinoSyed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, were followers of the terrorist group

Three days after the shooting, the extremist group made the announcement in an online radio broadcast, saying “Two followers of Islamic State attacked several days ago a center in San Bernadino in California,” according to NY Daily News. Prior to the broadcast, government officials didn’t have direct evidence to prove this was an ISIS move. The site continues, “The broadcast came a day after Facebook confirmed that comments praising Islamic State were posted around the time of the mass shooting to an account on the social media website established by Malik under an alias.

Other sources reported a pledge of allegiance to the Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was found on Malik’s Facebook page. Authorities found 6,100 rounds of ammunition, 12 pipe bombs, two semi-automatic handguns, and two assault-style rifles in the couple’s home after they were killed. The FBI is continuing to investigate the scene.
