Twenty-one years after one of the most controversial cases in pop culture, FX is revisiting the events leading up to O.J. Simpson’s acquittal in the new series, American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson. This is the latest franchise from FX in the same vain as American Horror Story.

Oscar Award winning actor, Cuba Gooding Jr. will star as O.J. Simpson, Courtney B. Vance plays the late Johnny Cochran, David Schwimmer is Robert Kardashian and John Travolta plays Robert Shapiro.

The 10-part mini series will focus less on the actual crime, as there will be no flashbacks of the incident, instead according to Shadow & Act, audiences will see the case from the perspective of the lawyers.

The series “…will explore the chaotic behind-the-scenes dealings and maneuvering on both sides of the court, and how a combination of prosecution confidence, defense wiliness, and the LAPD’s history with the city’s black community gave a jury what it needed: reasonable doubt.”

From the looks of the trailer, Cuba and Courtney are giving Emmy worthy performances. Did you watch the trial back in 1994/1995? Are you interested in seeing the mini-series?
