Arlington Police have officially completed their investigation into the fatal shooting of Christian Taylor, an unarmed 19-year-old who was killed by a police officer this summer.

The Dallas Morning News reports the Tarrant County District Attorney’s office in Texas received the report on Monday. The Angelo State football player was fatally shot by Officer Brad Miller after allegedly breaking into the Classic Buick GMC dealership on Aug. 7. A medical examiner ruled his death a homicide. Synthetic psychedelic drugs and marijuana were also found in his system.

Surveillance footage from the car dealership is the only existing video from the shooting. Taylor was seen jumping on cars before Miller arrived on the scene. Miller shot Taylor four times after claiming the teen charged at him.

Michael P. Heiskell, the attorney representing the family, says he’s hopeful the case will be presented to a grand jury.

The Dallas Morning News reports:

“Christian’s life was taken by Miller without any lawful justification as a result of the use of unconstitutional deadly force,” Heiskell said. “Christian was unarmed and did not present any immediate threat to justify this deliberate method of four shots being fired into his body, with two shots entering the back of his two forearms.”

Miller was fired just a week after the incident for using “poor judgement” during the shooting. His attorney, John Snider, believes the move was made by Police Chief Will D. Johnson to please anti-police supporters.
