In one of the most disturbing murder cases in recent times, Detroit mother Mitchelle Blair confessed back in March to the murder of her 13-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son before stuffing their bodies in a freezer. While in court on Thursday (Jun. 4), Blair yelled out that she committed the crime and aimed her anger at the fathers of her dead children.

The Detroit Free Press reported on the ongoing custody case involving Blair’s remaining living children, ages 8 and 17. While in court, Blair refused to contain her emotions, screaming that she did kill her children, but oddly shifted the blame on the fathers for not being present in their lives.

From the Detroit Free Press:

“I did it! I never tried to say I didn’t. I did it!” she yelled. “But that does not negate the fact that they were never there for their children.”

It was the third time during the day that Blair referenced what happened to her children, Stoni Blair and Stephen Berry. Their bodies were discovered at the Martin Luther King Apartments in Detroit by a crew carrying out an eviction notice on March 24.

Earlier in the trial, Blair yelled out “Yes, I did kill her,” referring to Stoni Blair. Blair’s brother, Stephen Berry, was found in a deep freezer next to her. Blair reportedly had her eldest daughter put her sister’s body into the freezer.

According to earlier reports, Blair repeatedly tortured and beat her children, burning them with irons and other horrible acts. Blair continued to receive welfare benefits while giving authorities the impression her two children were still alive.

In a separate criminal case, Blair faces charges of felony murder, first-degree premeditated murder, torture and child-abuse and is being held in the Wayne County Jail. She is due back in court June 19.
