Confusion, disappointment, and sorrow in life often result from not understanding fully what has happened. How can the true meaning be discovered and understood? After Jesus explained His life, death, and resurrection within the context of Hebrew Scriptures, the two travelers on the road to Emmaus understood better what had happened.
The justice and righteousness of God demand that all sin be punished. According to 2 Corinthians 5:10, we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ in order to give an account of the deeds done in the body(whether they be good or bad)—for sin does have a heavenly remedy, which is the reason for the coming of the Suffering Servant, Jesus Christ. He died for us. Verse 10 reads, “For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
Lord God, grant that Your servants may live lives that are well-pleasing in Your sight. Grant that we all have the will to obey and never transgress Your Word. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
