Plenty of R&B fans have made the complaint that the music genre hasn’t been the same since the early 90s. 90s R&B staple Jodeci heard your cries and wants to fix your problem.

Jodeci is planning on making a new album and tour which is to be released by the end of the year. One of the memebers, Mr. Dalvin spoke to You Know I Got Soul about the group’s plans to get back into the studio.

“I don’t want to promise you anything, but I would say near the end of the year we’ll go on tour, because we haven’t toured the States since ’96, and then come back and put out that album.”

“We’ve got like 200 songs recorded already, so we’re probably going to go through them  and put together an album. We got hot songs that we never released or nobody ever heard.”

“Everybody thinks we just broke up and don’t speak or anything, but it’s nothing like that. We’re family and people don’t understand that.”

Jodeci was one of the more popular groups to usher in a new style in R&B back then. Do you trhink they still haver what it takes. Will the new generation of R&B fans allow Jodeci a spot on their ipods or have Trey Songz, Chris Brown, and Ne-Yo rendered Jodeci extinct?
